Considering the prices on the PlayStation Store, we can see that we had to pay $69.99 for Spider-Man 2, which was released some time ago. The situation is identical to the premiere of Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, which was released on December 7th.
The Standard Edition of Diablo 4 costs $69.99, while FC24 costs as much as $69.99. Thus, we can expect the cost of GTA 6 to be around $70. It's important to remember that this is the most optimistic scenario, assuming that by the game's release, neither the economic situation will deteriorate, nor will the gaming industry implement another standard price increase for AAA titles.
Will GTA 6 be the most expensive game on the market?
Some people believe that over the next few years, games will significantly increase in price, and fans will have to pay even more for AAA titles. In September last year, a rumor spread around the Internet saying that the latest GTA would cost $150.
Fortunately, according to Wedbush analyst Michael Pachter quoted by Reuters, fans of electronic entertainment can be reassured as he predicts that despite investors having high hopes for Rockstar and Take-Two Interactive, the game should be priced at around $70.
This prediction could bring optimism to everyone who was worried about GTA 6 costing more than $100. Given the current situation, it's still possible, but we can assume that the price of the game shouldn't exceed $80. Even despite the fact that the head of Take-Two regularly complained about the current prices of games, claiming that they are too low.
However, the final cost of the latest installment of the legendary series will depend solely on the publishers, and we will likely only learn their decision in 2025.
