HoYoverse has released its newest title Zenless Zone Zero. Developers of Genshin Impact or Honkai Star Rail decided to enter postapocalyptic metropolis. Of course, the game gained a lot of attention and many gamers decided to give it a chance. However, some players can’t do that, as they encounter Unity Error. So, how to fix it? Let’s look at it.

How to Fix Zenless Zone Zero (ZZZ) Unity Error Crash

Remember that sources of the error are different. The solutions presented below may not work in your case.

General Fixes

Before any of the complicated fixes, try some easy ones. You should restart your PC and run the game as Administrator. Moreover, go to the game’s directory and run its exe file in compatibility with an older Windows like 7 or 8. You can also disable fullscreen optimization (also in Compatibility settings).

Do not forget about overlays. They are an often source of various problems. Apps like Discord or Nvidia GeForce Experience have one. Disable them and try running the game once again.

DX12 Fix

  1. Start the launcher and pick 3 horizontal lines in the right, bottom corner.
  2. Now, click Game Settings and Open Directory.
  3. Copy as path the exe file (right click it and pick the proper option) / If you can’t see the dedicated tool, choose Properties instead and copy Location path.
  4. Next, make new shortcut and paste the path there. Make sure that the string location ends with \ZenlessZoneZero.exe, if not (windows 10), add it.
  5. Now, after the above path, make a space and add “-force-d3d12” (without quotes) at the end. Click next.
  6. Name the shortcut and finish the process. From this point use the new shortcut to open the game.
