Diablo 4's fifth season won't be as revolutionary as Loot Reborn, but recent tests have sparked hope for most players (except for Sorcerer fans; via Wowhead). One of the new features will include a new version of one of the iconic opponents of the Diablo series – the Butcher.

The boss's burning form, once a terror in the Sanctuary dungeons, no longer frightens players after 4 seasons of the so-called "power creep" - although he still sometimes hunts for "fresh meat" (via Reddit). Apparently, Blizzard wants to remind us of the terror that Butcher evoked in the first weeks of D4.

As noted by streamer Viett, the Public Test Realm (PTR) allowed you to encounter a new variant of this boss: the Burning Butcher. He met him alone at the highest level (8) of Infernal Horde mode - one of the new features of the 5th season. However, there have also been reports from other players about encounters with this fiery monster (via IcyVeins).

In the above material (published by YouTuber Rizarjaya), the Burning Butcher didn't have time to shine - he was on the screen for literally a moment. However, it was only the third level of the Infernal Horde, and the internet user was playing a barbarian equipped with the best gear available in the Sanctuary.

Viett faced the monster at the highest level of difficulty and thus could better test his strength. The player claims that this "ordinary" enemy (because among them appears the Burning Butcher) gave him more trouble than most bosses in this mode. Actually, the new Butcher in the video doesn't go down as fast as in Rizarjaya's footage.

Of course, we also have to take into account that these are still just tests. Diablo 4's 5th season will only begin in August. By that time, Blizzard can still make a lot of changes to the gameplay balance. After all, that's why the developers provide the Public Test Realm. We are still waiting for official information about the Burning Butcher.
