Igon is a dragon hunter you will encounter several times on your way to the top of the Jagged Peak. On this page of the guide we described how to complete a series of missions related to this hero.

Igon is a dragon hunter and friendly NPC you can encounter in the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion. Albeit his quest is optional and separate from the main plot of the expansion, during it, you'll travel to the summit of Jagged Peak and face a powerful boss, Bayle the Dread. On this page of our guide, you can find a walkthrough for the said quest and we show where this NPC is met for the first time.

Where to meet with Igon for the first time?

You will meet - and hear - Igon for the first time right next to the Pillar Path Cross site of grace. It is located along the main path south from Castle Ensis. Approach the screaming Igon and exhaust his dialog - you'll learn of a foul dragon Bayle the Dread.

After a short conversation, you need to continue along the path - at the junction, go right and follow a lower path lined with dragon statues. Along the way, you'll be attacked by an enemy, Ancient Dragon Man, whom you need to defeat. Watch out for some of his attacks, such as biting and fireballs. Fortunately, the enemy doesn't have a lot of health.

After the fight, continue following the path - soon you'll reach Dragon Pit, a cave that you need to progress through. At its end, you need to defeat Ancient Dragon Man again (this time he has more health, but the moveset remains the same) and leave through the new exit - you'll find yourself in Foot of the Jagged Peak location.

Where to meet Igon for the second time?

At the beginning of the new area, you'll find a message from Igon - this means that the quest has progressed, with the NPC changing his location and no longer found at the site of grace. Follow the path leading to the bottom of the cliff, and by the small lake you'll face a dragon. Fight him the same as every other dragon - on horseback, jumping over and avoiding melee attacks, watching out for fiery breath, and attacking the head at every opportunity you get. After defeating the dragon, start by going south to the Altar of Dragon Communion - here you can talk to the Dragon Communion Priestess to start another quest involving Bayle.

To continue with Igon's quest, you need to travel east starting from the lake, following the path just above Finger Ruins of Rhia. You'll know you're on the right path when you'll pass a large stony arch. Follow the only available path, use encountered Spiritsprings and cross the suspension bridge until you reach the Foot of the Jagged Peak site of grace.

Right next to it, you'll encounter two fighting dragons - before stepping into the battle, you can hide and wait for one of the dragons to kill the other one. Nevertheless, even after entering the battle you can provoke the dragons to attack each other. After defeating the dragons, you'll hear a familiar voice - its Igon sitting in the middle of the path leading forward. Talk to him, and he will give you his furled finger. With this item, you can summon Igon to help when facing the main boss of this location, Bayle the Dread.

Continue journeying up the Jagged Peak by using the Spiritspring behind Igon and climbing - watch out for falling boulders. Eventually, you'll reach the final enemy before Bayle himself - the ancient dragon Senessax. Defeat it or skip the encounter by climbing the nearby slope and next you'll reach another site of grace - Jagged Peak Mountainside.

The arena for the Bayle encounter is right opposite the site of grace. Start the battle as soon as you are ready - you can summon Igon to help during the fight. The summoning sign can be located right after the battle is initiated - left from the arena entrance.

Rewards

Regardless of whether Igon survived the battle against his nemesis, died in the course of it or wasn't even summoned, the final step of the quest remains the same. Return to the Foot of the Jagged Peak, to the arena where two drakes fought and the place where Igon gave you his furled finger. This is where you'll find his body, from which you can take Igon's Greatbow, Igon's Armor and Igon's Bell Bearing (after delivering it to the merchant in Roundtable Hold, you'll unlock the ability to buy Igon's Harpoons, special arrows for greatbows that deal bonus damage to drakes). This will end the quest.

If for some reason you've killed Igon right where you've met him initially, the described loot can be found at the Pillar Path Cross site of grace.
